In normal times, if you have to cancel your flight prior your departure because of a covered reason, trip cancellation and interruption insurance benefits may provide reimbursement for the non-refundable flight costs. However, if the travel supplier offers a credit for future travel, this is considered a form of reimbursement, even if you did not request the credit or you refuse it. In such cases, your travel insurance provider may not provide any additional reimbursement.
